A rapid and robust GC-MS method for fatty acid analysis

 

Fatty acids are crucial components of cell membrane lipids and precursors of lipid mediators like  eicosanoids.

This recently published paper describes the currently fastest GC-MS method (17.2 min) available for fatty acid profiling of positional and geometrical isomers. Therefore it is perfectly suitable for fatty acid profiling within clinical, nutritional and toxicological studies in matrices like serum or plasma.
